You've seen the show {America's Next Great Restaurant}...

...now you can check out the restaurant!

Soul Daddy
189 Front Street (South Street Seaport)
Walked by here the other day and it smelled really good! Too bad I already had lunch so I'll definitely have to come back! It's great the city is getting more Chipotle-esque {quick service} restaurants! So nice for when you're on the go!

Let me know how it is when you go! And I have to admit I only saw the show when I'd flip through the channels... What did you think of the show?! Worth watching next time??

Good to know: This isn't too far from the Pier where you catch the ferry to Ikea. You could grab a quick bite here on your way too or from Brooklyn!

What to do with hardwood floors...

Remember how just yesterday I mentioned Lot Less has great deals! Well, I wandered into the one on Fulton Street after a Red Mango run last night and the rugs in the back caught my eye!

It seems like many new "New Yorkers" {us included:)} often only stay in one apartment for a few years because then you need more space! The tricky part is outfitting your apartment or making it comfortable for the time you are there! Many - if not most - apartments come with hardwood floors so you'll want to cover them with some type of rug, but you might not want to spend too much - just in case the rug isn't the right size/color for your next apartment!

Back to Lot Less, the 5'3"x3'11" rugs were only $19 last night. I picked up a red and ivory one to put in my entryway or bedroom {can't decide which at the moment}. Even if it only lasts me through this apartment, that's totally worth it!
And I loved this doormat! I'm a sucker for cityscape designs!
The Fulton Street location had a huge selection with lots of different colors and prints! Perfect if you're looking for a more 'disposable' type rug!
And just a block away, I saw this flier at Red Mango! I guess their opening last week wasn't quite official so they're going to really celebrate the first week of June!

While wandering around Tribeca, I came across Lot Less and headed inside to see what they had. It's a lot of 'stuff' crammed into one place, but what I really did like was all of the organizational things they had for so much less!
You have to think vertically in New York apartments. Every bit of space is key and that's why every apartment needs a good stepping stool! I have one like this and a large two-step one. They rarely get put away because I'm constantly using them to put things away or get them down!
We had two portable closets like this in our first apartment! It's nice when they have a cover like this one! $29.99 isn't a bad price for that either!
You might have thought bed risers were only for college kids, but we have loved used them in all of our apartments in the city! Those extra couple of inches help us fit all of our suitcases under our beds!
I recently got some cabinet shelves like these and it definitely helped me maximize my kitchen! And give it a cleaner look too!
I especially love the narrow bins for 99 cents! Those are great to use on the shelfs behind the mirrors in bathrooms. They keep everything from falling out everytime you open the mirror!
Stacking bins are always good! As well as a cart to roll things around in! (Though I haven't given into one of those quite yet!)

Good to know: Lot Less is a closeout store so obviously the selection will vary. If you're just getting started organizing an apartment or looking to clean out one you've been in for a while, I'd measure the areas you're looking to organize. Then, check out Lot Less to see if you can find what you need for cheap. Finally - if you're looking for a bin to fit a specific space that you can't find at Lot Less, try The Container Store {definitely expect to pay a little bit more there though :)}

Cafe Doppio

Cafe Doppio
55 Broad Street

Hubby and I stumbled upon this place today while grabbing a quick bite for lunch and we'll definitely be going back. Looking for a new soup, sandwich and salad place?! Then, check this one out! Cafe Doppio is a small, quaint restaurant with quick service and amazingly fresh eats!
Ten different hearty and fresh soups!
Good to know: It's open until 4pm so if you want to grab some for dinner, you better pick it up early!

FiDi is on the map! Red Mango on Fulton officially opens TODAY!!

Can you tell I'm just a little happy!? {Slightly embarrassing I have a diet coke in hand...lol} Our first apartment in the city was just a few blocks from here - and let's just say there wasn't anything half as cool in our neighborhood at the time. This is big news downtown!

Red Mango
111 Fulton Street

Here are some pics I snapped last night during their "soft" opening last night... I can't believe there's 10 flavors in one store!! The raspberry cheesecake and peach ones were awesome!
Between my friend and I - we sampled 5 different flavors! As you can see - our "regulars" were a pretty good size and they only cost between $5-$6 with topping included!
Now, you can load on the toppings to your liking!
I discovered yogurt chips for the first time last week and I thought that was amazing! Boba.. could be a new favorite too!

Good to know: Sounds like the hours might be extended soon! Yay! Keep checking! Also, be sure to ask for their Club Mango card and earn points with every purchase!

Yay for {almost} spring like days!

Walking home today in the rain, I passed these tents and just had to take a look inside. Even thought it was windy and raining, it was great to see the farmer's markets are back in the city for the spring!

Here's what I found today on Cedar Street (near Trinity Place)...

Meredith's Bread

Think bakery under a tent!
It's amazing how much of a variety they can fit on just a few tables.
The mini pies and loaves would make a great treat to bring to a friend! I bought the mini banana bread and it was so moist! Mmm..
I didn't try her cupcakes, but they looked delicious!
Next to Meredith's Bread was Red Jacket Orchards...
Check out these luscious apples!
And I took home a small bottle of their RASPBERRY apple juice.. no sugar, no fake stuff.. Whoa! It was so good! I may have to go back next Tuesday! This is just one of the many reasons I love the city. You never know what you will find when you simply walk around!

To see a list of farmer's markets in your neighborhood, check out Grow NYC.

Know before you go: Many - if not most - only accept cash.
