Bzzzz.. you'd BEE silly not to go here...

Walking into 'Bee' yesterday - felt like an escape into an enchanted garden! I went with a girlfriend for lunch and it was delightful!

Bee Desserts and Cafe
94 Greenwich Ave.
Look at these cute tables outside in their garden! I think this would be a perfect place for a romantic date night!! It's amazing that the trees above create plenty of shade so it's never too hot!
Bee Desserts and Cafe is a Brazilian-influenced restaurant - with lots and lots of sweets!
There's not too much seating inside - so I'd really try to go here on a nice evening and snag a table in the back garden!
Good to know: It's on Greenwich AVENUE (near 13th Street) - NOT Greenwich Street in the financial district.

Birthday date night!

{Whoa.. so after they sing happy birthday in Italian - which sounds way more beautiful than in English - they dump a pot of chocolate on your dessert until you tell them to stop! Mmmm... what a fun surprise!}

Hubby and I had one of our best date nights in the city on Saturday night! He took me out to celebrate my birthday and wandered around the Upper West Side with me afterwards. {I love just walking down any random street in the city... really the best way to explore!}

We started out with dinner at Cafe Fiorello - a most lovely Italian establishment! It's one of those places where the crowd is somewhat on the older side - probably because they've been going there for years and years!
 Cafe Fiorello
1900 Broadway (between 63rd and 64th St.)

The lasagna is one of their signature dishes and it's the reason I love Cafe Fiorello! It's an open-faced, one layer lasagna - but don't be fooled! It only makes the classic dish even better!!! The noodles are home made and you can taste it!

We ordered a pizza as well - which was really good! But we definitely like the margarita pizza better from the time before! {Oh and can you tell already that we had so many left over to bring home!!}

This is in reverse order, but for our appetizer - we ordered their famous fried ravioli! It really is fun to try!
Thanks hubby for the best night! It was my favorite birthday celebration yet!
Good to know: DO make reservations.. Cafe Fiorello is on opentable!

Tribeca Film Festival comes to you!

Going to the Tribeca Film Festival has always been on my list of things to do in the city so after living here for four years, I was determined to go this year! I went to Tribecafilm.com and started looking up movies. One that caught my eye was this one: New York Says Thank You.

New York Says Thank You Trailer

What was even better was when I realized - they have an online screening room now for some movies! (Super awesome for a date night at home if you have kids OR for you readers not in New York so you can say you watched something showing at the Tribeca Film Festival!) You can take a look at which ones are offered online and sign up here for the specific date. When you sign up, you'll have a 24-hour time frame for when you can watch the movie. (Even more awesome for those of us who don't know when our dates or we will get off work! I have a feeling we might be starting this at midnight.. :) We're planning on inviting a few friends over (if we can start before midnight) for the viewing this weekend! I'll let you know how the movie is!

What movies are you going to see at the TFF? Which did you like this year or in years past!?
