Happy Mother's Day to all!!

Oh hubby was a treat this morning! Spoiled me with flowers and breakfast - as well as some songs on the piano before we left for church this morning! I love it when he plays for me!! He's setting the standard high - especially since we don't have kids :)
Good to know: You can find these gorgeous blossoms at bodegas all over the city right now! Peonies are usually only here for about a month or two so you might want to treat yourself or a friend soon!

An even more royal wedding!

After church on Sunday, hubby and I headed up to the Central Park Conservatory Garden. It was such a lovely afternoon! We took a brief stroll through the {FREE!} gardens before heading to the trellis behind the fountain here...
For a wedding!!! Hubby officiated his fourth wedding. It was most lovely and I think he did a wonderful job! I enjoyed hearing his marriage advice :) The newlyweds looked fabulous and it was a most gorgeous backdrop with the garden!
Afterwards, we took a quick stroll past this tulip garden before grabbing a cab to head back downtown. I didn't edit the colors in these! It really was that beautiful!
I was thinking it would be fun to make a Shutterfly/Blurb/MyPublisher book someday for my kiddos about colors using the photos from the garden! The colors were so vibrant!
Hubby and I walking out of the garden. He promised to take me back on a date soon! I can't wait! Thanks for being my prince :)
Good to know: The Conservatory Garden is open from 8am until dusk. You can enter at 106th Street and Fifth Avenue (Upper East Side). If you can, make it up there soon!

Lots of green {and pink} in the city!!

After going to a baptism for a sweet, young boy in our church's congregation on Saturday morning, I wandered over to the Union Square Greenmarket (or Farmer's Market). Dozens of farms, orchards and others set up tents to showcase their flowers, plants, food and more! The selection was amazing! I have been worried about planting too early this year because last year I had to replant multiple times after the cold weather killed my flowers. {Hopefully, I waited long enough!}
This neon pink flowers caught my eye and I couldn't say no! They reminded me of all of the cute J Crew florescent pink apparel. I also picked up some smaller white-flowered, ground covering to go in between the pink ones.

Here are the before and after shots! It makes all the difference looking out my kitchen and living room windows. It finally feels like spring is really here!
Ahh.. my own little patch of greenery in the city! It's so refreshing! Hope you had a great weekend!

Good to know: The market takes place on the west and north sides of Union Square Park on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8am-6pm. From talking with several of the shops on Saturday, it sounds like Saturday and Wednesdays are the biggest days.
