Week 22: Washington, DC

Made a quick, last minute trip to DC this week!
So glad I didn't have to worry about driving, traffic or parking!

Can't beat the less than 3.5 hour Amtrak train ride!
In a car, you'd be lucky (very lucky) to make it there in less than five hours from my experience.
Yay for faster travel and less hassle!
So excited for the Olympics this weekend - I wore patriotic colors the whole time in DC :)
Ashley appreciated that!
I asked her, "Where is your red, white and blue?!"
She said she couldn't wear it everyday all summer :)

Loved seeing these DC beauties!!
Gorgeous working city gals!
It was so fun hanging out with Rachel, Ellis and Ashley!!

Ashley showed me around her new city - which included a much anticipated tour of the Newseum!
I loved it! And would highly recommend it!
This quote rang true with me :)
Even if you aren't into the 'news' - it's a great walk-through American history!

We also stopped by one of her internship offices - Congressman Jason Chaffetz!
And of course, a "Holt" girls trip wouldn't be complete without some sweets!
The famous Baked and Wired cupcakes shop was the perfect treat in Georgetown!
Thanks Ashley, Rachel and Ellis for such a wonderful trip!!!

PS - Have I mentioned how much I love Amtrak getaways?!
