Staying busy during rainy days lately

On my way home from work a couple weeks ago, I headed into City Quilter on West 25th Street between 6th and 7th Ave. When I saw the city-themed blue, green and yellow prints - I just couldn't resist! A dear friend of mine recently had her first boy so I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it! Make a baby-boy-city-themed rag quilt!
My mom has made several of these type quilts lately
and so luckily, she was able to explain it all over the phone!
Thanks Mom!! Did I get it right?!
I couldn't decide which I liked more - the black and blue city townhouse print or the darker green one with cityscapes! The yellow one is beautiful too since the buildings are more subtle.
It's the first quilt I've made since high school! A little addicting to say the least! There's a lot of great places to get fabric in the city, but City Quilters definitely has the best selection of city-themed prints.  The rest of the fabrics there are displayed so nicely - it's easy to find coordinating materials for quilts! With colder weather on its way, I think I've got at least one way now to stay busy inside this winter!
